Zingiri Web Shop 1.5.2 is released today. This release introduces 3 key new features amongst more than 50 smaller features, enhancements and fixes.
- You can now fully edit the customer registration form. You can simply select the form you want to edit which will take you to an editor where you can change field names, change field length, add new fields (for example a birth date), move the fields into different position, hide fields, make fields mandatory, …
- The order confirmation is replaced by a template system allowing you to have full control of the look and feel of your order confirmation. You can add a logo, change colors, … Other templates for correspondence such as emails will be introduced as well in the near future. It’s making it so much easier to adapt the look and feel of your site to your liking.
- The widgets system has been review allowing to add more widgets, more easily. We’re bringing you a couple new ones. First a product carousel, that allows you to place a product slide show inside your theme, showing your new products for example. And second a simple widget that displays a random product. In the future you will see some new widgets like: Bestsellers, You might be interested in this, Other users bought this, … the sky is the limit!
Other improvements and fixes include:
- For now only the customer registration form is editable but in the future the editor will allow editing other forms.
- Error & warning logs are cleaned up automatically to keep those logs from growing too much. Only last 7 days of data are kept, data older than that is deleted.
- From the product list you can now simply tick the front page indicator to indicate if you want the product to appear on the front page. Easier than having to edit the products one by one. Before deleting a product, you will now be alerted with a confirmation message before performing the delete. The product name on the front page is now clickable.
- The Zingiri logo can now be displayed how you want: site wide, only on shop pages or disabled. If disabled, we count on you to manage a back link to our site somewhere on your site.
- The orders summary now contains a display of the customer’s name and address information, make it easier to have all information in one place.
- A Paypal email can now be specified on the level of the payment. If none has been defined, it’ll work as before, the sales email will be used as Paypal email.
- When adding to basket, a check is performed to see if the product is still in stock and the customer is alerted if there is no stock left. Before that the check was done as well but no message was displayed.
- We added an option to completely disable the ordering system, useful for people who want to use the shop as a product catalogue.
- And besides that of course a few bug fixes and some minor enhancements.
Hope you enjoy this release!
As usual, backup everything before you upgrade your plugin! And test it first on a test site before putting it into your live site!
