We’re happy to announce the release of Zingiri Web Shop Live 2.0.

This release is quite a big step ahead in terms of reliability, security, performance, etc. In the past we’ve had a lot of queries from people who had issues getting the shop to work on their particular configuration. That’s because there are so many different ways hosting servers are set up, not counting the many home grown setups. To make it easier for our users as well as for us, we’ve decided to split the Web Shop plugin in 2 parts.

The first part manages all the interactions with your web shop customers. It allows to register customers, place orders and service the customers generally. This part will be installed on your site as you did before with the full plug-in. However now, this plug-in is much lighter and installation will be a breeze.

The second part, the back-end will be installed on our servers. You will be able to register for an account with us and will be able to manage your products, customers, orders, etc as you did before from this central portal. We’ve hooked up with Rackspace, one of the leading hosting providers to ensure that this back-end is hosted securely, is reliable and offers best performance. Also all updates to the software will be automatically deployed and you will get access to new features as they come along.

If you’re a new user, the set up couldn’t be easier. Download the plug-in and install it as usual, sign-up for an account, fill in the account details on your own site and you’re ready to go.

If you’re an existing user, the same steps as here above will need to be followed. On top of that you will also need to migrate your local data to our secure servers. Instructions will be provided in the control panel of the new plug-in so it’s no sweat. Do keep this in mind when you upgrade though as this first upgrade may take a bit more time than usual.

Is this still free, what cost is associated with this service you may ask? Well, we’re trying to keep it as low as possible and have come up with a price of $9.95 per quarter, which should be really a marginal cost. In return you will get all the great benefits described here above.
