Mailing List version 1.2.0 released

Posted February 20th, 2011 in Uncategorized by ebo@zingiri.com

We’re happy to release version 1.2.0 of the Mailing List plugin. As you know this plugin uses the fantastic phplist mailing list engine and integrates it seamlessly with WordPress.

With version 1.2.0 we have gone a step further and enhanced the integration even more. You will see a revamped menu, a reviewed back end plugin control panel and a simpler, sleeker default front end.

Besides that we also added Twitter and Facebook links to the control panel, as well as a donations link in case you’d be interested in helping us out and finally also a direct link to our WordPress page where you can rate the plugin.

Hope you enjoy all these changes.

    Hi,

Thanks for your good works. However, is this plugins able to have few newsletter subscription (in checkbox) in a single form so that visitors can choose which newsletter to subscribe?

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Best regards,
    Eric Oye

By the way, I’m having this error when I try to install it from my wp-admin plugin.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3184069 bytes) in /home/onprocom/public_html/ask/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 1426

  3. admin says:

You will need to ask your hoster to help you increase the memory limit which seems to be set to 32M.

  4. admin says:

    Yes, it certainly does!

  5. darragh says:

Hi, I’ve just installed Mailing List on WP 3.1 and the FCKeditor isn’t displaying on the ‘send a message’ admin page. Any fix suggestions welcome!

  6. telmo says:

i can´t log in wp admin … use the username and password and doesn´t work, don´t show any error code or message.

  7. poezii says:

Ok. Would you mind explaining how?
I created the template, associated it with the list, now I would expect a widget would allow me to publish it to the frontpage of WP… but nope, not available.
So… how would you do it?

By the way, your marketing box in the admin panel sometimes overlays over the content of the administration panel making parts of it unusable. You should put an option to minimize it when necessary.

  8. poezii says:

Also, when creating a new message, the “Content” textbox is not displayed so you cannot create a new message. Showstopper this one!

  9. twk says:

    Hi.
Mailing List plugin is great, but today I have opened my WP cocpit as admin, and the Mailing List wants me to login!
What happened? I have no dedicated login for Mailing List plugin. Please help – how to make it work again?

  10. twk says:

Well, removed all cookies and it started to work.

  11. admin says:

Try cleaning cookies and sessions (restart your browser).

  12. admin says:

Can you check if you are using other plugins that use that editor? Could be a conflict with another plugin.

  13. Renée J. says:

There is no Content textbox, so, how am I supposed to create a message? Also, I expected to find some templates under “Templates”, but there’s only some arcane instructions about images and creating a template. I don’t know how to create a template! I’m not a developer or a coder. And it won’t let people subscribe to the mailing list because there’s no newsletter available.

  14. aly says:

same issue here on WP 3.1 “send a message” page loads up, from and subject line are enabled, so is “message footer” but no way in which to post the message itself. Am using Woothemes theme.

  15. Graeme says:

Throttling, where do I find controls to limit the outgoing flow of emails?

  16. Gary says:

Yep, I’m having the same problem. I’m migrating my website to WordPress and really wanted to use this PHPList functionality. It’s really strange that the “content” textbox doesn’t show up. Any ideas how to fix this????

  17. Randy says:

I have the same problem, I do not have a box for the message when I try to create a new message.
    Help!!

  18. Randy Harris says:

I am having the same issue.

    Any advice?

  19. Jurij says:

    Hi,

I have tried to install this on MS WP installation. After install i get “Couldn’t log in to PHPlist”
Is there any support about multisite available please?

    How PHPlist can be updated?
    Can plugins be intalled?

    Thank you! Jurij

  20. Chad says:

I also have the problem of not being able to compose a message. I’m using wordpress 3.1.1. I don’t have any other plugins that use FCKeditor to my knowledge. This plugin would be great, but I can’t use it if I can’t send a message.

  21. jurij says:

    Hi!
    What about multisite installation?
    It doesnot work for me…

Will you support MS (MU previously)?

  22. Jurij says:

Couldn’t log in to PHPlist abd several other errors on multisite installation.
    Is MS supported?
    Kind regards

  23. derniere says:

Can´t log in wp admin too. It said “page not found” and links to /wp-content/plugins/mailz/lists/admin/?zlist=admin…
    Any help please?

  24. skahmad says:

Mailing list is very nice. But I would be thankful if you could help me to edit the footer which says on all my website pages “powered by choppedcode phplist”. I would like to give you credit for mailing list not for the whole of my website.

  26. drew says:

I have the same issue as skahmad: “I would be thankful if you could help me to edit the footer which says on all my website pages “powered by choppedcode phplist”. I would like to give you credit for mailing list not for the whole of my website.”

I am happy to leave ‘powered by etc’ in the emails but not on all my website pages.

    thanks.

  27. admin says:

Fair point. We did add this option on our other plugins but haven’t come around doing it on the mailz plugin.

Pending that, you can edit the file mailz.php in the plugin folder, look for the line:

    add_filter(‘wp_footer’,'zing_mailz_footer’);

    and replace it with:

    //add_filter(‘wp_footer’,'zing_mailz_footer’);

  28. drew says:

many thanks for understanding and quick response, congrats on great plugin, all the best.

  29. mardoorzan says:

    Same issue here.

    Configuration:
    WP 3.1.2
    BuddyPress 1.2.8
    WPMUDEV buddypress theme

Plugins partially related to text edition (all updated):
    Contact Form 7
    Wordpress Petition

I have deactivated them but no way. Message windows doesn’t appear.

I tried installing CKEditor for wordpress but bug still remains the same.

  30. mardoorzan says:

    Is anybody there?

  31. mardoorzan says:

I naddition I can’t see “lists tab” under “send test message” and over “save changes”

  32. mardoorzan says:

The only way I could sent a message is pasting my text into footer editor and pasting a comma separated email list in “send test message”. This way recipients received the message TWICE.
